BBE girls to seek 6A title tonight (Saturday)

The BBE Jaguars of volleyball are on a roll heading into tonight's (Saturday) section title match. Now they're matched against Henning. At stake: all the Section 6A marbles.
The Jaguars and their fans can feel buoyed by how the team has been sweeping foes. A succession of three sweep wins leading up to tonight, in fact. First it was a 3-0 rout over Wheaton-Herman-Norcross. Then came the 3-0 success versus KMS, and then the sweep of Brandon-Evansville on Thursday at Fergus Falls.
Tonight's location is Fergus Falls too.
The section semi-finals are the same thing as the sub-section finals. One must keep your mind sharp when following these things - not always easy. I found that even when I was in the commercial media, it was tough feeling a sense of clarity sometimes. These playoff systems are always subject to change too. For the time being, let's focus on the exciting climb of the Jaguars in 6A. Even the sub-section falls under the rubric of 6A.
So can BBE take the crown, advance to state? For sure there will be a considerable turnout of fans tonight at Fergus Falls. Henning will likewise feel buoyed.
The BBE coach always prioritizes a fast start in games: seize the edge early. It was mission accomplished in the Brandon-Evansville match. I use the term "game" while the media tends to use "set." Bear with me.
In game #1 (or set #1) the Jaguars exhibited high energy. The tone was set. The Jags are coached by Alanna Hunter. The defense was sharp. The pluses led to an 11-4 lead. The next two games were ditto: leads of 8-0 and 6-1.
The Brandon-Evansville Chargers are coached by Kelly Olson. Olson was impressed with the various strong suits of her team's opponent.
BBE achieved the sweep with scores of 25-18, 25-20 and 25-12. BBE climbed to 24-6 in won-lost.
Brandon-Evansville ended up with the fine W/L numbers of 17-11.
The match reflected the seeding judgments, as BBE owned No. 1, B-E No. 2. This is the South sub-section. Henning is the No. 1 seed coming out of the North. Henning's W/L numbers are 25-5. Starting time tonight (Saturday) is 7 p.m. Like BBE, Henning beat the No. 2 seed to wrap up sub-section - in Henning's case it was Breckenridge. And like BBE the Henning girls won in a sweep.
Last year the Jaguars met Breck for the 6A title and were edged 3-2.
Coach Hunter is prioritizing a fast start once again for tonight. BBE and Henning did not meet in the regular season. BBE is ranked 10th in Class A, Henning ninth.
Brandon-Evansville appeared on a roll going into Thursday's match: they had won 11 of 13.
Brooklyn Fischer ("hudl")
The winning Jaguars bore down with the resolve from the get-go that coach Hunter prioritizes. The formula has the Jags in post-season ascendance. What will tonight's outcome be?

Fischer leads kills
Let's look over the stats from Thursday. Here we see Brooklyn Fischer excelling in kills with 18. Abby Berge and Ava Mueller each pounded down eight. Then we have Adley Hagen with six, Allison Dingman with five and Kylie Weller with two. The serve aces category has Fischer and Harley Roering each with two, and Berge and Mueller each with one. The cog in the setting department was Kylie Weller: 39 assists. Mueller and Fischer each had one assist.
Moving on to ace blocks, these three Jaguars each had one: Hagen, Dingmann and Weller. Then in digs, Harley Roering came to the fore with her 27. She was complemented by Mueller 12, Berge 8, Fischer 8 and Weller 6.
Let's go Jaguars!

Media trends
From an email I sent to friend last week:

Our (Morris) school has made the YouTube club into a full-fledged school activity. Change continues! When I left the paper, Sue was talking how we'd be taking so much video for our website. As things turned out, newspapers did not have a "lock" on video coverage of stuff - it migrates to elsewhere, just like nearly all news reporting could. Look how "Minnesota Football Hub" reported on our last football game. It's all fluid. Morris paper is really hurt by lack of timeliness. I think it will catch up to them.
New MACA boys hoops coach is Jake Torgerson, son of Mark. I hope he keeps putting the stats on Maxpreps, because that really helps me.

The eyes have it!
I finally saw the eye doctor, and he said that if I ever struggle with eye test at DMV, I can always get a "note from my doctor." That was a relief to hear.
